Contractors in Oregon are required to hold an active liability insurance policy before performing any work in the field. If they have employees, a workers compensation policy is also required. Double-checking a contractor’s insurance policy credentials is critical for maintaining peace of mind throughout each phase of the renovation.
4. How Is The Payment Schedule Structured?
A reputable contractor will never ask for the full price of the contract work up front, but rather provide a payment schedule that is distributed over several phases of the project. Understanding your contractor’s payment expectations is crucial to avoiding a situation in which a homeowner has paid for large amounts of work that have not been performed.
5. Do You Have a Plan to Maintain Jobsite Security and Cleanliness?

6. Do You Offer a Warranty?
