Social Distancing and Safety Measures Policy
In response to the global outbreak of the COVID-19 virus and the governor’s executive order 20-12, Straight Line Design and Remodeling has created a company-wide social distancing and safety measures policy. We are strictly enforcing this policy in order to continue business operations while ensuring the safety of our clients, employees, and community at large. This document outlines the steps that we are taking to minimize and eliminate person-to-person contact wherever possible during daily business operations.
Working in Occupied Homes
In order to maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet between field employees, subcontractors, and clients at all times, all on-site carpenters and subcontractors will each be assigned a designated section of the home that they will be exclusively responsible for working within. Each employee and subcontractor will be assigned to an area that measures approximately 100 square feet, and will be required to stay within their assigned area at all times. For example, a 10’ x 5’ (50 sq. ft) bathroom could be assigned to a maximum of 1 employee or subcontractor at any given time. A 15’ x 15’ (225 sq. ft) kitchen would allow for a maximum of two employees or subcontractors at any given time, with a clearly defined separation between their respective working areas.
Daily Operations Practices for Field Employees
All field employees must:
- • Immediately leave work and self-quarantine in the event that they develop any flu-like symptoms. They will not return to work until the symptoms have cleared or they have obtained a doctor’s approval to return to work.
• Keep a minimum 6’ distance between themselves and other employees, clients, and subcontractors at all times.
• Wear protective face masks and latex gloves at all times, as well as a badge that reminds others to stay 6’ away.
• Use their own tools at all times, and use provided hand sanitizer and alcohol spray bottles to sanitize their hands and tools at the beginning and end of each workday.
• Install site care plastic sheeting to designate and isolate the areas where work will be performed. This will include zipper doors, negative air pressure circulation, and a designated singular entrance and exit to minimize foot traffic.
Daily Operations Practices for Office Employees
All office and administrative employees must:
- • Immediately leave work and self-quarantine in the event that they develop any flu-like symptoms. They will not return to work until the symptoms have cleared or they have obtained a doctor’s approval to return to work.
• Keep a minimum 6’ distance between themselves and other employees, clients, and subcontractors at all times.
• Sanitize all shared-use surfaces before and after coming into contact with them, including office toilets, faucets, countertops, door handles, drawer pulls, and coffee makers.
Guidelines for Social Distancing Outside of Work
All employees must:
- • Abide by the local government’s stay-at-home orders and 6’ distancing regulations.
• Reduce store visits and practice essential travel only.
• Maintain healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise practices to keep immune system as strong as possible.
• Practice self-care and maintain mental health in times of quarantine.
Estimate Policy
In-home estimates are offered at client’s discretion. Phone call, video call, and email consultations are offered as alternatives. Clients can expect to wait approximately 10 days after their consultation to receive a written estimate via email.
Design Policy
Design meetings are primarily held via phone conversations and video calls. Due to our design staff working from home and experiencing reduced communication with one another, design projects may take additional time to complete.
Material selection visits at our showroom will be available at the client’s discretion – otherwise, an online material selection process will be acceptable.
Conclusion
Thank you for your trust and understanding. We look forward to providing our clients with low-stress, high-quality home remodeling services during this time of caution and uncertainty.
