This family of four was in need of updating their smaller kitchen into a larger space with greater functionality. The narrow, galley-style kitchen space was challenging to work with because the client wanted to incorporate a hidden washer and dryer, a mudroom with shoe and coat storage, a coffee bar with a sink, as well as expanding their counter space for more prep surface. We accomplished these updates by removing a partition wall and extending the cabinetry.

The home was an original 1960’s midcentury ranch and the client wanted to keep this style while adding a modern touch. We used a black and white palette with a touch of white oak woodwork incorporated with the cabinetry. Using flat panel doors, neutral-tones, and a modern barn door, we were able to put a modern twist on the space while keeping its original charm. It was important to our clients to have a luxury coffee bar installed, which we were able to symmetrically incorporate in the center of the galley kitchen. Now, our clients can wake up and enjoy their hand-crafted espresso in their newly simplified and modernized space.
